Mark Cuban Heroes Basketball Center to honor moms at Center Table Mother's Day event May 11

As a thank you to all the hard-working mothers, bonus moms and mom figures juggling work, home life and more, a Center Table Mother’s Day mobile pantry food event will be held Thursday, May 11, from 9:30-11:30 a.m.at the Mark Cuban Heroes Basketball Center (1800 Bonnie View Rd, Dallas, TX 75216). Free and open to the public, the event is presented by The Mark Cuban Foundation, The Dirk Nowitzki Foundation and The Heroes Foundation.

In partnership with the North Texas Food Bank and the City of Dallas, the eventwill provide food boxes to more than 500 families on a first-come, first-served basis, plus entertainment including performances by local violinist Leoncarlo Canlas, swag bags, flowers provided by Dallas Fire-Rescue, and more. Note: Moms do not need to be present to pick up items.

“We want to make sure these everyday SHEroes feel the love this Mother’s Day weekend,” said Trina Terrell-Andrews, chief executive officer of the Mark Cuban Heroes Basketball Center. “And with inflation continuing to take its toll on families, hopefully this event provides some respite to all the women who give so much for their families.”

Terrell-Andrews said the day will also include several prize-package giveaways – with gift certificates for spa treatments, brunch, photo shoots and more – for mothers who register onsite that day.

A vintage pink Cadillac provided by Planet Lincoln will greet guests. Volunteers will include representatives from various law enforcement agencies, including the Dallas Police Department, Dallas Fire-Rescue, Texas Department of Public Safety and more.

The event primarily serves those who reside in the surrounding neighborhoods of the Mark Cuban Heroes Basketball Center including Cedar Crest, south Oak Cliff and southern Dallas County. Pre-registration is NOT required.

Center Table launched in May 2020 to address the tough times many families have faced since the onset of the pandemic. With the onset of inflation and rising costs, the program has since continued and become a beloved tradition.

Since its launch three years ago, Center Table events have provided more than 17,800 meals to families and households.
